About the Neighbourhood

Hurontario is roughly bounded by Mavis Rd. to the west, Matheson Blvd. to the north, and Highway 403 to the south and east. Condo apartments in Hurontario offer more space than many of the newer condo apartments, and range from $145,000 to $1.0 million for luxury apartments on Kingsbridge Garden Circle. Freehold houses in Hurontario tend to be somewhat older, but are often updated and boast large lot sizes. Detached homes in Hurontario range from $530,000 to $1.0 million. About the Community

Hurontario is conveniently located nearby major highways 401 and 403, providing easy access to downtown Toronto. Mississauga Transit also serves Hurontario, providing public bus transportation locally along numerous bus routes and throughout Mississauga at nearby City Centre Transit Terminal. Brampton Transit bus route 502 also goes along Hurontario Rd., providing connections to the City of Brampton.

Mississauga’s largest shopping mall, Square One, is located close by, just south of Highway 403, and offers a large variety of shops and services to meet any shopper’s needs. Heartland Town Centre, located in the west end of Hurontario, also offers numerous large outlet stores and services a little closer to home. Hurontario is home to the Frank McKechnie Community Centre, which offers residents a number of fitness and recreational activities. Hurontario is also home to two large skating arenas, Iceland and the Hershey Centre.

Schools in Hurontario

Hurontario is served by a number of both public and Catholic schools. For public elementary education, Hurontario is served by Champlain Trail Public School, Fairwind Sr., Cooksville Creek Public School, Barondale Public School, Bristol Road Middle School, Huntington Ridge Public School, and Nahani Way Public School. Applewood Heights Secondary School and Rick Hansen Secondary School are the neighbourhood’s two public high schools. From the Catholic school board, Hurontario is served by San Lorenzo Ruiz Elementary School, St. Gertrude Separate School, St. Hilary Elementary School, St. Jude Separate School, St. Matthew Catholic School, and St. Pio of Pietrelcina Elementary School. St. Francis Xavier Secondary School and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School are the area’s two Catholic high schools.
