Brampton consists of a wide variety of housing options, and homes in Brampton tend to be more affordable than in other areas of the GTA while still maintaining easy access to Toronto. The most expensive Brampton neighbourhoods are the Vales of Castlemore and Brampton East in the city’s northeast end, and the Credit Valley area in the southwest. About the Community

Brampton is home to a great many parks and outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy, with a number of conservation areas such as Gage Park, Camp Naivelt, and Heart Lake Conservation Area. The Brampton Arts Council supports a number of cultural programs and organizations, such as Visual Arts Brampton, the Brampton Historical Society, the Brampton City Orchestra, and the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives. The Rose Theatre, which houses a number of public events, is located in downtown Brampton. Six libraries and numerous community centres are located throughout Brampton, and the city has plenty of shops and services at Bramalea City Centre, Shoppers World, and Trinity Common Mall.

Brampton is well-connected to the GTA via major highways 401 and 407 which run through the city, as well as Highway 401 just south in Mississauga. Brampton Transit provides public bus service throughout Brampton and connects the area to surrounding transportation systems in Mississauga, York Region, and Toronto. Go Transit connects Brampton with Toronto to the east and Kitchener to the west. There are three Go Stations in Brampton along the Kitchener train line: Bramalea, Brampton, and Mount Pleasant. Via Rail also provides some commuter train service to Brampton along the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. Brampton is also close to Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Schools in Brampton

Brampton is served by the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. There are many elementary and middle schools located throughout the city which are part of both school districts. A number of secondary schools also serve Brampton students, such as Brampton Centennial, Sandlewood Heights, Turner Fenton, Holy Name of Mary, and St. Edmund Campion Secondary Schools. A number of schools offer French Immersion and Extended French programs. Brampton is also home to Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
