About the Community

Toronto is easily accessible from most Mississauga neighbourhoods, providing access to all of the city’s shops, services, and other amenities. Mississauga does not lack for amenities itself, with two large shopping malls – Square One and Erin Mills Town Centre – that each offer a number of shops and services. Various arts and cultural facilities are located throughout Mississauga, such as the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga City Centre. Mississauga is also home to a number of community and recreational facilities, and residents can enjoy any of the countless parks and walking trails located throughout.

A number of major highways run through Mississauga, providing easy access to the rest of the GTA. These highways include the QEW, 401, 403, 407, 410, and 427. Mississauga Transit provides public bus service to the city, with many large bus depots located throughout. Go Transit provides regular commuter train and bus service along both the Milton and Lakeshore West train lines at 9 Go Stations, ensuring commuter access for all Mississauga neighbourhoods. The Toronto Pearson International Airport is also located in Mississauga.

Mississauga is served by the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. There are a large number of well-ranking elementary and high schools from both school boards. Some of the top-ranking public schools in Mississauga include Miller’s Grove Public School, Mineola Public School, Plum Tree Park Public School, Cawthra Park Secondary School, Glenforest Secondary School, John Fraser Secondary School, and Gordon Graydon Secondary School from the public school board. From the Catholic school board, top-ranking schools include St. Timothy Separate School, St. Edmund Separate School, St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, St. Marcellinus Secondary School, and John Cabot Catholic Secondary School. There are also many private schools located throughout Mississauga. Mississauga is also home to the University of Toronto Mississauga campus and the Hazel McCallion Campus of Sheridan College.
