Applewood is roughly bounded by Cawthra Rd. in the west, Burnhamthorpe Rd. in the north, Dundas St. E in the south, and the Etobicoke Creek and Wharton Way in the east. Homes in Applewood tend to be of an older style and consist of a mixture of detached, semi-detached, townhouses, and apartment buildings. Detached and semi-detached homes tend to have good lot sizes and as a result, are in high demand. Semi-detached homes range from $429,000 to $790,000, while detached $549,900 to $1.25 million. About the Community

Applewood is conveniently located close to several major highways, including the 403, 427, and QEW. Mississauga Transit provides public transportation both locally and throughout Mississauga. The area is also served by the Dixie Go Station along the Milton train line, but its close proximity to the Cooksville and Long Branch Go Stations provide additional access to the Lakeshore West train line. Applewood is also near Islington Subway Station, providing easy access to Toronto and the TTC. This neighbourhood is also located close to the Pearson International Airport.

Applewood’s close proximity to Toronto provides easy access to Toronto shopping and businesses. Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga’s city centre is only a 10 minute drive away. Shopping centre Sherway Gardens is also accessible by both Mississauga Transit and the TTC. Numerous parks are located in the area, while the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre provides residents with various fitness and recreational activities.

Schools in Applewood

Applewood is served by a number of public elementary schools, such as Silverthorn Public School, Dixie public school, Burnhamthorpe Public School, and Glenhaven Sr. Public School. Applewood Heights Secondary School and Glenforest Secondary School serve the area for secondary education. Applewood Heights, Burnhamthorpe Public School, and Tomken Road Middle School also provide French Immersion to the area. See peelschools.org for more information. A number of Catholic schools also serve Applewood, including St. Alfred Separate School, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, and St. Thomas More Separate School. John Cabot Catholic Secondary School and Philip Pocock Catholic Secondary School are the Applewood community's two Catholic high schools.
